AUTUMN……Perfect time to climb BALD ROCK
Forget about traipsing into the middle of the desert to climb Uluru.
Tenterfield is the home of NSW ‘s own monolith wonder Bald Rock. At 1277 metres above sea level, it’s the largest exposed granite rock in the Southern Hemisphere. Autumn with it’s cooler days is the perfect time to climb to the summit. It takes about an hour to walk to the top via the walking path and you will see the “granite titans”- a collection of huge rocks balanced on top of each other. You will also be rewarded with spectacular 360 degree views. Take the walking path back down or descend down the face of the rock very slowly. Great family fun.Posted by
